The Dirty Birds were founded in 2010 originally as a co-ed softball team mixing together a group of good friends, co-workers and family. Our inaugural season started off very well as we finished second in the league. That has set the bar for this team to meet and exceed those standards in the coming years. Staying with the good friends, co-worker and family theme players were heavily recruited to expand the franchise to include a competitive men's league team as well as the proven co-ed team. Coming into the 2011 season things didn't work out for the co-ed team as the fields we played on were under construction. So we took that in stride and full steam ahead with the men's league team we went. Bringing on players from the previous seasons team and combining them with a few new additions was worrisome at first because cohesion in team sports is important. As this team continues to play for the years to come we would like to expand out to the community and promote local business as everyone on the roster has grown up here or has spent a majority of their life in the Tri-Cities. The Dirty Birds finished a disappointing fourth in the Richland men's summer league but because we finished strong with our full roster back we were all looking forward to Fall Ball. As Fall Ball progressed we played some really strong teams, this time our league was in Kennewick, and we dropped a couple games we shouldn't have but that's why you play the game. The Dirty Birds felt we played well but that we are still improving as a team even though we tied for first place in Tuesday/Wednesday Division of the Kennewick Fall Ball league.
